Randal Street Works 002
Randal Street Works.rnReed and Heald making business started in Short Street in 1863 by James Haydock. During the mid 1870's Haydock built a new works on Randal Street. they had 100 employees by beginning of twentieth century. The works was heightened to three floors following a fire in 1911. A variety of heald reeds, loomers and tapers' combs were made at the works. In 1933 the firms of James Haydock and William drake were amalgamated to form Haydock and Drake Ltd. Production was transferred to Phoenix Mill, Pump Street and the Randal Works was closed.
