Hornby Mill 005
Beam Gaiters in Hornby's Brookhouse Mill. The beam gaiter prepared the warp thread (which is pulled through the loom) on the beam for mounting underneath the loom after the now empty beam had been first removed. This was a two or three man job and was hard physical work in a hot and humid environment.
