Dickinson & Sons, William 001
Advertisement by William Dickinson & Sons, textile machinery manufacturers, at the British Empire Exhibition of 1925/26 during the time leading up to the 'Imperial Preference' campaign, which sought to give protection and preferential tariffs to the Empire and Commonwealth. Ironically, the products of William Dickinson and others were often sold abroad, thus hastening the demise of the Lancashire cotton industry, which commenced its slow decline into oblivion after the Great War.
