Town Hall 015
b04635. A busy Market day out side the Town Hall. The Foundation Stone of the Town Hall on the 28th October 1852 by Joseph Feilden. The Hall was opened on October 30th 1856 by the Mayor William Hoole. The cost was more than £30,000, the architect was James Paterson and the contractors were Richard Hacking and William Stones. It was once the home of the police and had cells, Courts were also held there. The Clock Tower and Market Hall are shown. Note the open top Tram. D 52.
