​​​​​​​​​​​​​Jessica Lofthouse Inventory

​​​​​Jessica Lofthouse was born in Clitheroe in 1908, and lived most of her adult life in Blackburn. She was a writer, artist, teacher and lecturer, and was mainly interested in the history and countryside of North-West England. After her death in 1988 a large collection of her books, diaries, sketches, news cuttings and miscellaneous items were passed to Blackburn library, where they are now held in the local history archives.
