Everybody's got a story to tell. Not everything has been recorded, not everything's been written down. This is your chance to tell that story. Maybe it's something that happened to you, maybe it's a family tradition that's been handed down, or maybe its something that happened in your neighbourhood, in your area.
We're not talking about events that changed the world, or even events that changed Blackburn and Darwen. These things have been written about already. It's the small stuff of daily life that makes history come alive. What were you doing when war was declared in 1939? Can you remember your first day at school? Do you remember the blackout, food rationing? Did you move to the area from somewhere else, from Pakistan, or India? What were your first impressions of the town?
It does not have to have perfect spelling, or be long, word processed or on disk. If you can illustrate your story with a photograph or two, so much the better. It just needs to be about you, your family, your work or any other memory which you think is interesting. You might not think it will be of interest to anyone else, but you will be surprised. IT IS!
