It was a hard act to follow, but Jim Halsall was next and nothing daunted, he soon had the audience spell-bound with his fascinating commentary on the display of images operated by Digital Resource Creator Rachael Spencer. Jim's delivery and timing and sense of humour went down well with people who had been sitting there for the best part of an hour and whose thoughts must have been turning towards the buffet. Councillor Kate Hollern rounded things off and declared the Cotton Town website officially open.
Afterwards there was the chance to get something to eat and drink and discuss points the talks had raised. PC's were available upstairs in the Learning Centre so that people could try out the website for themselves and Community History Manager Diana Rushton had produced a fascinating display of local studies materials for people to browse.
