Billinge Avenue, Blackburn
The large villas on Billinge Avenue were built not long before this photograph was taken. Billinge was a desirable area of the town and some of the houses were occupied by Blackburn's notables. Thomas P. Ritzema, son of the proprietor of the Northern Daily Telegraph lived at "Bardon". Thomas J. Forrest, a cotton manufacturer lived at "Forwell".
